All media files you want to enjoy on your PC without an active Internet connection require a dedicated player to process them. There are default methods provided by Windows, but also an abundance of third-party alternatives. A suitable example is QueuePlay, with a slim design, intuitive controls, and flexible environment.

One of the application’s main advantages is the lack of an installer to take any of your time or effort. As such, it’s good to go from the moment download is done, and you can store it on a thumb drive to use on other PCs as well. Registry entries are not affected, so there’s no need to worry about the health status of the target PC.

The main window might create a bit of confusion at first, especially because the output window is only brought up when playback is initiated. Truth be told, it’s rather rough around the edges, and might not appeal to you if aesthetics are search criteria for your new player.

Moreover, file support might leave more to be desired as well. On the one hand, you must rely on the built-in file explorer to land to the designated location, which can be a little frustrating because of the cluttered space. On the other hand, you can only work with formats like AVI, MIDI, and WAV, and a few playlist files.

Once added to the list, playback can be initiated. The playlist can also be saved for later processing. During playback, the application can quietly sit in the tray area, with a set of dedicated controls, but no hotkey support for faster management of options.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that QueuePlay comes with good intentions, but feels rough around the edges overall, and might not appeal to the majority of the public. File support is pretty poor, with a difficult time handling both file loading operations and even simple playback controls.
