There is no shortage of video players, but not all of them align to the latest standards and resume to playing 2D content.

In the case of SA Media 3D the content is automatically converted to 3D in order to make watching movies a more enjoyable experience.

It supports both DVD and Blu-ray content (either from an image, local folder or straight from a disc) and the installation process should not be the cause of any trouble since it is smooth and does not promote third-party software in any way.

The interface is simple, with a large area for rendering the video and a control console that also provides access to various settings, not all relating to 3D content.

Before playing the video content you can choose how it should be treated by the application: 2D, 2D with effect or 3D.

The player includes controls for adjusting the volume and the brightness level of the image but more advanced choices are available under the Video Options menu.

These provide the possibility to change the contrast, sharpness, saturation and hue. Moreover, there is a denoise function for a smoother image. 3D settings allow changing the depth and the type of the glasses used for watching.

Additional configuration options touch on the power of the machine. The program permits striking a balance between quality and performance depending on the specifications of the computer.

As such, choosing a lower specced system should result in smoother playing of the video while a more powerful configuration renders it with better quality.

SA Media 3D is far from being difficult to work with. Looks are not impressive but the layout and the functions are straightforward and intuitive. In order to use it special hardware is required and it is advisable to use a more powerful system.
