Screen recorder

Recording one's screen is a simple activity that most content creators and amateur users employ in order to create tutorials, instructional videos, or entertainment pieces for their followers or themselves. If you are interested in recording your screen for one of the mentioned reasons, or for any other one, Screen Recorder might be of help.

This utility is built in such a way that both technical and or less technical users can easily and effortlessly operate it. There are three main sections to Screen Recorder. A full-screen tab, a custom area selector, and the media library where your recordings will be listed.

Before starting any type of recording, make sure you're paying enough attention to the presets. Those would be the resolution type, PDF values, graphic quality, and mouse behavior. Below these settings, you will find the combo menus that allow you to select the camera you're going to use and the audio input device, that being your microphone.

The same process applies to custom area recording. The only exception here is that upon switching to this method, the tool will apply a grey overlay on your screen that works as a canvas for the area you'll have to manually select. The selection is quickly done by dragging a square or a rectangle over the part of the screen you want to record.

After you're done with setting everything up, you can press Record — the big red button located at the bottom of the interface.

Completing a recording will generate two files in the output location. Why two different files? Because the camera and the microphone are identified as two separate devices, thus resulting in a video and audio file for each recording. Use the Media Library tab to preview the results or to access their location.

Screen Recorder is a simple tool, indeed, but it's far from providing the same services as a more powerful and already established application. Still, for amateur users or those who want just want to experiment with screen recording, it could be perfect, especially when there's no price barrier.
