More often than not, users rely on PowerShell for various commands and scripts to perform various tasks. PowerSession is a lightweight utility that provides a quick way to record, play and upload the commands and scripts used with PowerShell.

According to the developer, the output of the tool is compatible with asciinema v2 standard and therefore, can be played by ascinema. The latter is a well-known open-source solution for recording terminal session text-based and lightweight. The platform also offers the possibility to easily share the recordings on the web.

The utility can be installed via various methods, including via .NET, Scoop and manually by grabbing the executable file. To start recording a session, users need to use the PowerSession.Cli.exe rec a.txt command, whereas playing the output can be done via the PowerSession.Cli.exe play a.txt command.

The application also includes additional functions that may come in handy, namely auth (PowerSession.Cli.exe auth), which enables a straightforward authentication and upload (PowerSession.Cli.exe upload a.txt) that can be done via the ascinema.org platform.
