SSS Screen Video Maker is a lightweight Windows application built specifically for helping users record their screen activity to a video file.

Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.

You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to record your desktop activity on the fly, without having to go through installation steps.

This is a Java-based utility, so you should make sure you have previously installed the working environment on the computer before running the utility.

SSS Screen Video Maker gives you the possibility to record only in a full screen mode, and this means you are not able to capture an active window or a user-defined region of the screen.

What’s more, you can start or stop the recording process, make the program hide or reveal the mouse cursor during a recording session, as well as embed a text message on the recorded video, which is placed on the top left corner of the file.

The tool also allows you to save the recoding to a video file. During our testing we have noticed that the application needs up to one minute to create the video. No errors showed up throughout the entire process, but it stresses up the CPU and memory, so the overall performance of computer may be affected.

By default, SSS Screen Video Maker saves the recordings to FLV file format, and stores the items in the same location where the application is saved.

What’s more, the tool offers support for audio recording options and automatically creates a folder with screenshots taken during the recording sessions. The screenshots are saved to PNG file format, by default.

SSS Screen Video Maker offers very good video and image quality but it cannot compete with other powerful utilities on the market, as it lacks support for advanced functions, such as multiple recording modes and output formats, just to name a few suggestions.
