Screen and Desktop Recorder

Screen and Desktop Recorder is an application that enables you to record video and take snapshots of your computer screen. It gives you the possibility to customize a wide range of options to obtain the best quality.

After a speedy setup operation that shouldn't give you any trouble, you're welcomed by a small panel which lets you choose between video recording and image grabbing mode. The tool has some sleek animations when loading UI menus.

Videos are recorded to AVI format. You can capture the full screen, fixed area, active window, region or another region, or an area which follows the mouse. Sound can be recorded too.

It's possible to set the saving directory, include or exclude the mouse cursor, draw a rectangle around the capture area to easily spot it, draw a cross rectangle line, as well as automatically minimize the window right before starting the session and restore it afterward.

The recording duration can be limited to any number of hours, minutes and seconds, provided that you have plenty of available disk space. Meanwhile, expert users are free to tinker with the encoding parameters when it comes to the video codec, quality, key frames and frame rate, along with the audio input, format and volume.

Screen and Desktop Recorder offers a lighter set of options when it comes to screenshots. It minimizes to the systray and lets you capture a custom-drawn region, as well as to specify the saving directory, filename and format: JPEG, BMP, ICO, EMF or WMF.

Screen and Desktop Recorder mostly focuses on its video recording feature, thanks to its wide range of advanced options. The video quality and FPS were excellent in our tests. CPU and RAM usage was minimal during recordings.
