ScreenRecorder

If you wish to start recording your desktop activity in order to produce gaming walkthroughs, hardware/software tutorials, or whatever process that would require you to do stuff on your screen, all you need to get is a screen recorder utility. The market is full of these types of apps, some of them paid, some free. In case you don't want to spend money on already established software, you may give ScreenRecorder a try — a basic app that can capture anything that moves on your desktop.

The most annoying thing about this app's UI is the impossibility to resize it. You either go full screen or you try to drag the corners and end up glitching the entire interface. However, kudos for not crashing, as the drag function was spammed a lot during the test, and with all that unpleasant framing, it didn't crash.

Regarding the functional parts of it, the application gives you the choice of outputting to ASF or MP4 formats. You can apparently mix your voice, add your logo, your name and phone number. The logo is nothing more than a watermark, as the unregistered version will leave all your recordings with the developer's watermark.

The big red REC button is all you need to click in order to start recording your content. Once clicked, the UI will hide and anything you do on your desktop will be captured into a video. Use the Esc key or the Ctrl + F7 combo to end a recording. All created videos can be accessed from the list located on the right side of the UI.

ScreenRecorder is indeed a simple application that lets you record your desktop and nothing more. It might have a clunky interface, but at the end of the day, you'll have your videos.
