Screen recorders and their capabilities have come a long way, and these days it’s quite easy to find one to suit your needs, and even most OSs’ come with such functionality built-in, which albeit not on par with the features offered in dedicated solutions. Both screenshots, as well as video recording, is sometimes required, and this is where SoftOrbis Screen Recorder comes into play. This application was designed specifically in order to offer you an accessible solution for recording both image and video data from your desktop area, with support for a variety of useful features.

Right after the swift installation process, you will be greeted with a handy assistant, which presents itself as a side-panel that can be easily moved and toggled, as required. This makes for a quite accessible way of interacting with the app’s features.

I found this to be especially useful when dealing with multiple opened applications or windows, and having access to either image or video recording in just a single click. Of course, the application also comes with a series of hotkeys for initializing the recording process, if you prefer that method.

When it comes to evaluating the recording capabilities of the app, there really isn’t anything too special about them, everything is pretty standard and well-established. In other words, you will be able to record in a preferred screen area and access all the features you’d expect from such an app.

On that note, the app also carries numerous editing tools, which I found to be a very nice addition.
