Zeus Bundle

Software bundle solutions provide an alternative way to handle tasks that would otherwise require several bespoke programs. In a multimedia scenario, for instance, you can't really download a video and edit it in the same app. In a bundle package, however, this is different.

These types of programs were conceived to offer a one-stop-shop for a particular set of needs, and Zeus Bundle seeks to deliver by providing a multimedia suite for its users. Download videos from many popular sharing sites, edit them, extract their audio, record your screen and your microphone, and so forth.

At its core, the program is quite simple: the interface is quite minimalistic, making it easy to navigate to the functions you require. Download a video by pasting its URL: it can be from YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Ted, and Vevo. The file will then be downloaded to your computer.

A recording function is also available: record your screen, use your webcam, and annotate in real-time. To further help with that, the Music tab allows users to separately record their microphone in order to manipulate the audio more thoroughly.

Video editing duties can also be handled by the software: edit your footage by adjusting its contrast, brightness, and other such options, trim it, then convert it to any of the formats on offer.

When prompting to do anything with this program, a screen detailing the limitations for that particular function will open up. At first glance, all of this seems reasonable — but the problem is that there is no option to turn that off, which becomes rather off-putting with time.

For instance, the program keeps reminding you that you can only download 10 videos, that anything you edit and record will have a watermark applied on output, and so on. It's only natural to have functions be somewhat limited in the Free tier, but the way the program keeps notifying you to upgrade to the Paid tiers can be a cause for frustration.

Zeus Bundle manages to entwine multiple toolsets into a singular whole: it's certainly nice having everything in one place, but the limitations may turn some people off.
