Extracts information about the SSL certificate chain of web servers, providing fast scanning, exporting options and batch operations #Certificate Scanner #SSL Scanner #Extract Certificate #Certificate #SSL #Scanner
Network administrators have to carry out various tasks, not only to make sure that all the network devices are functioning at top performance, but also to ensure network security. One of these assignments requires them to periodically scan digital certificates of web servers, all to prevent potential network breaches. A reliable SSL certificate scanner is required in this case.
The NetScanTools SSL Certificate Scanner makes it possible to easily extract certificate-related information both from internal web servers and websites. It supports batch operations, meaning users can configure a large list of web servers or addresses and the scanner will analyze them one by one, displaying the extracted information within its main window. In other words, before retrieving the certificates, one must first edit the target list.
Users must enter either the hostname or the IPv4 address of the web server. Alternatively, the list can be imported from a text file, provided it respects the pattern: one host per line followed by the port number (which can differ from the standard 443). An address range generator is also available.
The list of web servers and addresses is imported to the application’s main window and the scan can now begin. NetScanTools SSL Certificate Scanner reveals the certificate (HTTPS), along with important aspects, such as the validity, its start and end dates, its signature algorithm, its public key, the names of the organization, the certificate issuer and the path to the root certificate.
The scanner runs tests to detect one of the following connection methods: SSL (version 2 or 3) or TLS (version 1, 1.1, or 1.2). For each web server, users can access the certificate chain, which reveals other additional information.
All the extracted information can be easily exported to a tabbed delimited text file, a CSV file or a HTML document. Alternatively, users can copy it to the clipboard and paste it wherever they need to.
The NetScanTools SSL Certificate Scanner is a handy software tool for all network managers, providing one-click access to certificate-related information. It allows administrators to monitor the health and the validity of the certificates in real time and take the proper measures if the certificate is either compromised or closing its expiry date.
