View and change your computer's network settings, ping addresses and run network scans via a user-friendly interface, without working with the command line window #Network scan #View network settings #Change IP address #Scanner #IP address #Ping
The Windows console is a very powerful tool for those who know how to take advantage of its features. However, there are some that do not enjoy using the command prompt to carry out networking-related tasks and operations and would prefer a more user-friendly tool that does not require remembering commands. Having that in mind, the developer of NUTs - Network Utility Tools created a simple GUI for basic network-related tasks, which allows you to view network information, execute ping commands, scan the network and more.
Installing the application only requires a few clicks and NUTs - Network Utility Tools is up and running in no time. The software displays the basic network settings within its main window, namely the computer’s IP address, the subnet mask, the default gateway and the primary DNS address.
With NUTs - Network Utility Tools, you can easily see the basic network settings that would otherwise need the “ipconfig” command, change the basic settings, as well as ping hosts and scan the network.
The network configuration can be changed with NUTs - Network Utility Tools. There is a simple form that enables you to fill in a new IP address, subnet mask, a new default gateway, as well as custom primary or secondary DNS addresses.
Aside from network-related information, NUTs - Network Utility Tools can also execute ping command and scan the network. To ping a host, enter its IP address and the requested timeout. The results of the ping command can be easily exported.
NUTs - Network Utility Tools can also scan the network, provided you enter a beginning and an ending range. It also comes with an MTU Checker for you to use whenever you need. Moreover, it brings to the table ARO cache interrogation and a built-in traceroute utility.
Any computer user requires minimum network knowledge, at least to be able to find their PC’s IP address and identify basic network settings in case of need. Checking the network settings, changing the network configuration, running ping commands, and scanning the network are tasks that can be completed using NUTs - Network Utility Tools instead of the command console, if you don’t fancy the latter.
What's new in NUTs - Network Utility Tools 2.1:
- New interface and little errors fixed.
- A README file is available.
- A setup file is made to simplify the installation (and because the actual file was big).
