Ping for life is a network monitoring application whose purpose is to help you ping host names or IP addresses and check the connection status. You can use it for performing trace routing tasks and keeping your Internet connection alive.

You can run the utility on your system by simply opening the executable file, as you don’t have to go through an installation process. You may store it on USB flash drives and other portable devices.

The design looks straightforward and all the program’s settings can be reached with minimal effort. You can build up a list with the host names or IP addresses that you want to ping. It is important to mention that the app is able to ping multiple hosts at the same time.

Ping for life gives you the possibility to select the entries from the list that you want to ping, and start, pause or stop the process.

The program reveals information about each pinged IP host name or IP address, namely status, sent packets, success and failure rate, elapsed time, date and time when the action is initialized, minimum, maximum and average time, as well as date/time when the ping last responded.

The tool embeds a log panel at the bottom of the main window for helping you gather details about the date and time, host or IP address, status, number of bytes, trip time (in milliseconds), and hop limit.

Plus, you can clear the log with a single click, automatically scroll the information displayed in the log, and copy data to the clipboard. Ping for life saves your current ping session in case you want to close it.

You can specify the time between pings, ping timeout, hop limit, and buffer size. What’s more, you can set up alerts that can be triggered in case the app records a custom number of consecutive lost packets.

Ping for life is able to show popup notifications, display system tray icon alerts, play custom audio files (WAV file format), log data in the Windows event log, and send emails.
