Enhance the functionality of your clipboard by making it easy to log all entries, and have them automatically saved, while a search component helps find strings of interest #Log clipboard #Text search #Clipboard search #Clipboard #Finder #Find
Windows comes bundled with various features, and not all of them need a visual interface to be of use. For instance, the clipboard is nowhere to be found, but helps temporarily store text and other items. As such, ClipLog and ClipFind comes as a neat extension to the clipboard, automatically saving content and helping you find it.
One of the main advantages is that you don't even have to go through a setup process to make it work, so it's good to go from the moment download is done. This also means you can carry it around on a thumb drive to benefit from its features on other computers as well, which is extremely helpful since all text is saved in the work directory.
The application contains two components, like the name points out. It's best to launch ClipLog first, so that clipboard content can be monitored. There's little effort required on your behalf, because monitoring automatically starts once the tool is launched. For more comfort, there's a function which sends it to the context menu, so the desktop remains free for regular interaction.
The seconds component, ClipFind, is used to locate specific strings inside saved log files. On the bright side, you can launch this tool from the monitor component. The search operation is initiated by simply writing the desired string in the dedicated field, and it doesn't take a lot of time before results are shown in a list.
Interacting with detected items displays them in the default editor, and in case a log file is saved as HTML, the default browser is used for preview. What's more, search results can be saved to file, with a dedicated option to open one later on for easy identification of frequently used strings.
As mentioned, clipboard text is automatically saved under a TXT file with the name associated with the current date. Needless to say that you're free to rename them, but it's best to create a copy in case you want the search operation to be successful.
A lot of practicality can come from using this application. There's no default option to make it run with Windows, but this can easily be bypassed by adding a shortcut of the ClpiLog component to the system Startup folder.
All things considered, we can state that ClipLog and ClipFind are two practical enhancements which are sure to make the clipboard more powerful than before. It requires no installation so you can carry it with you. Components can be launched from inside one another, while the general design quickly gets you up and running, regardless of experience.
