If you need to take numerous notes every day, you probably waste a lot of time by saving them individually. There may be an easier solution available, though, in the form of a simple note-taking app that captures clipboard contents.

ClipNotes is a small program that monitors text copied to the clipboard and saves it for future use. It doesn’t offer a lot of features, but it is a great choice for those who need a no-nonsense clipboard recording utility.

The application is distributed in the form of a single executable file, and there is no need to install anything on your computer before launching the software. Once downloaded, ClipNotes can be put to use instantly.

It is also worth noting that the program does not leave any files or registry entries behind after it is shut down, which is great news for users who are concerned about keeping their PCs clean.

Thing stay just as simple after starting the app, as there are no complex settings for you to configure. ClipNotes automatically captures any text copied to the clipboard, although you can disable this function at any time.

There are two recording modes to choose from; the default mode removes certain repeated items and text formatting, while the classic mode leaves the text as it is.

Every new clip is added to the same document and can be viewed in the main window. At the end of the session, you can export everything to a TXT or RTF file.

You have the option of sending ClipNotes to the system tray after launch, but this requires accessing the Options menu. It would have been great there was an easier way to do this, as well as have the app start in minimized mode.

The user interface is simple enough to be novice-friendly, and it certainly doesn’t look outdated. However, window size and dimensions are reset when you should down the program.

In a nutshell, ClipNotes is a lightweight, no-frills utility that can help you take notes more efficiently. It can certainly save you a lot of time, and it is very intuitive, but it still needs to be improved in a couple of respects.
