Make the Windows clipboard hold more than one item, with options to save multiple ones for later use, with this lightweight tool #Clipboard manager #Clipboard content #Manage content #Clipboard #Manager #Manage
It’s difficult to imagine working on your computer with plenty of your frequently used applications, but just try to imagine using it properly without the Windows clipboard. Sure enough, it can only hold the last item you copy, but installing some third-party enhancements like ClipPlus can make it even more powerful.
It takes little time and effort to get it deployed on your system. On launch, the application goes directly to the tray area, without a notification to let you know it’s there. There’s also a main window to it, but it mostly serves as a means of organizing all entries.
Needless to say that you have to copy some bits of text in order to test out its functionality. The application remembers almost everything you copy, without an option to set a slot limit. You can access them from the tray icon menu, but they can also be saved for later use if you bring up the main window.
A large text area shows the currently selected clip item. Sadly, you can’t edit anything inside an item, which would have come in handy for quickly creating some text strings you frequently use. What’s more, saving can take a bit of time, because of the lack of an option to have all of them saved.
The application can only work with text, so copying files from one location to the other is done in the same manner, and this also applies to pictures within documents. All clips you choose to save are accessed from a dedicated slot. Sadly, you need to access it every time you want to paste something, because there’s no support for hotkeys.
Bottom line is that ClipPlus manages to extend your clipboard, and make it hold more items. These can be saved under a custom name, so you don’t lose everything when shutting down the computer. However, it feels a little rough around the edges overall, with a rather difficult main window, and no option to configure any hotkeys.
