Clippo

Working for countless hours on the computer usually means having to retrace your steps at some point, but it can be difficult to remember everything you did. However, things can become a lot simpler with the help of a clipboard monitoring tool.

These kind of applications basically record a history of all your clipboard activity, giving you the possibility to access it at a later time. For example, if you forgot where you copied an important file on the hard drive, you can recall history and check out the full file path.

There are many types of clipboard watchers, with features ranging from capturing text, URLs and file paths to recording images and other types of non-text content.

Clippo falls in the first group. It can only grab text-based content from the clipboard in real time, creating a history manager this way. It was designed with the Electron framework, which means that a lot of thought was put in the visual department, as can be noticed from the simplicity and elegance of the main app window.

Clippo has a light and dark theme available, which can be toggled from the right-click menu. Moreover, you can display a top menu for easy access (in addition to the context menu), increase, decrease or reset the font size to default, as well as use developer tools.

The program hides to the systray menu while not in use, constantly monitoring your clipboard activity and adding a new entry for each copied bit of data. As previously established, this can be either copied messages (like words, sentences or entire emails), URLs or file paths. It can also identify some types of clips, showing icons next to their entries.

There's also a feature available for taking screenshots (we assume) but clicking it doesn't do anything at the moment. This will likely get resolved in the next update. Although Clippo doesn't have an abundance of features, its simplicity will definitely be appreciated by users interested in a straightforward and easy-to-use clipboard grabber that doesn't get in the way of their work.
