Thanks to constant improvements in consumer-grade technology, the days of connecting PDAs to desktop PCs through a wired connection to transfer content will remain part of the past, replaced instead with fast, responsive and easy to use apps such as Clipster, boasting clients built for Android, macOS, Linux and Windows that let you synchronize text and images copied to your clipboard via the cloud.

Double-clicking the program’s portable executable instantly brings up the configuration panel, where users can either directly register a synchronization account without having to open a browser window. Given the open-source nature of the entire project, you have the opportunity to either use the developer’s default server, or host your very own through the available Linux server installation script for complete control over your data.

Once logged in, users can interact with the application via its dedicated system tray icon while running in the background for ease of access. Right-clicking it allows you to set the program to run concomitantly with Windows on boot to avoid manually starting it up when you need it, while also providing a way to bring the credential insertion window at any point for switching out the login details between personal and work accounts, for example.

After copying a piece of text or a screenshot to clipboard, clicking the Share Clip button in the app’s context menu syncs the content with the server and confirms the process through a toast notification, while activating the Get all Clips option retrieves the latest five entries in the server’s database for use on other devices, simultaneously allowing users to select specific words from a paragraph once registered.
