CtrlSee

CtrlSee is an application that monitors your Clipboard and keeps track of all recorded text clips. It shows you the history and lets you make any past clip active to reuse it.

The setup procedure doesn't take long and the only notable aspect about it is that the tool offers to autorun at system startup. This option can be later changed from the settings panel. Apart from this, you must have .NET Framework installed.

It creates an icon in the systray area at startup and runs there silently, so it doesn't interrupt your normal PC activity.

It's possible to set up a keyboard shortcut for bringing the history panel to the screen, which you can either hold down until selecting a clip to make it active, or just press it once.

Aside from the text clip, you can find out the date and time when it was added. These recordings are started as soon as CtrlSee is launched. Plus, you can adjust the transparency of the settings panel, clear all history with one click to start the recordings from scratch, as well as add or remove the application from the Windows autostart sequence.

It didn't put a strain on the computer's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it didn't freeze, crash or prompt error dialogs. It used a low amount of CPU and RAM, so it didn't hog system resources.

To sum it up, CtrlSee offers a simplistic method for reviewing your Clipboard history to reuse old clips, which especially comes in handy for retracing your steps when working on complex projects. However, it supports only text clips, whether we're talking about plain text or URLs.
