While traditional copy and paste methods suffice, a more advanced clipboard manager offers added benefits. Paste Into File is a tool designed to facilitate pasting clipboard contents into files and copying the contents to the clipboard directly from the context menu.
When I first launched the tool, I was greeted by the Settings window where I could specify if I want to add the operations to the context menu, enable autosave and autostart with Windows, among others. Each of the options is explained in detail, so take the time to read and decide what works with you.
The interface gives an old-school vibe, but it’s overall intuitive, as it includes the filename at the top, output directory and a large box where you can preview the content you grabbed from various sources. I like that the filename is very flexible and, if you can’t really think of a name, you can just choose from date and time formats available.
There is no limit to the type of content that can be added, and you can save the file in various formats, including Markdown, HTML, Java, PS1, JSON, CSS, PHP and Python, just to name a few.
As previously mentioned, the app includes several advanced features, namely autosave, batch mode and patching. Autosave is self-explanatory, as it allows you to copy from the internet or other places directly into files without needing you to do anything extra.
Batch Mode for Monitoring Clipboard Changes is another noteworthy feature that keeps an eye on whatever you copy, like text or pictures, and saves them into files whenever you copy something new.
Clipboard patching is one of the Paste Into File’s features I appreciate, as it lets you paste things from your clipboard into files using the regular way you're used to, like pressing CTRL+V or right-clicking and selecting ‘Paste’.
