Windows Clipboard Expander

The Windows clipboard is one productivity tool that many computer users, if not all of them, cannot live without. Unfortunately, the mentioned operating system does not feature multiple clipboards, and that is why a simple copy command can result in overwriting the information previously found in the clipboard. To avoid such situations and enhance overall workflow, a multitude of dedicated applications are available for download, and one of them is suggestively called Windows Clipboard Expander.

Windows Clipboard Expander enhances the functionality of the default Windows clipboard, allowing you to store multiple items at the same time. By default, it works in the system tray, but you can bring it back in focus using a simple hotkey (CTRL-SHIFT-A).

It enables you to work with two separate clipboards simultaneously or use the cumulative clipboard to store all the information in one place. Please note that when using the cumulative clipboard (it must be active to work), you will have to send the data back to the Windows clipboard. You can append it either at the beginning of the text or to the bottom of the current clipboard entries.

The history tab is separate from the cumulative tab, meaning that the entries in History are not captured in the Cumulative tab as well. The list of entries can be rearranged and saved in a text file on your computer, but you can simply use the tabs of Windows Clipboard Expander to copy the items you need at some point and paste them whereever.

Windows Clipboard Expander is surely is a good tool for improving the clipboard, but a few enhancements would add to its value. For instance, it would come in handy to automatically remove duplicates from the history or have the possibility to assign key combinations (for instance, ALT+the line number) to each entry in the two clipboards to handle them easier whenever needed.
