The old phone books were and always be the most convenient way to find different people and make contact with them by using their written details. We used to store that info into a small notebook, which we had to carry everywhere we went. Those times are long gone, and now more fitting and accessible replacements fill the Internet. Some offer basic functions to be more productive, other come with more complex features, suitable for those who need to store a large database.

Custom Addressbook Lite is a straightforward and easy-to-use application that provides a simple yet efficient method to add and keep in order your personal and work-related contacts. The tool comes packed in a small archive containing all the necessary files to work properly and thanks to its portable nature it can be dropped to an external drive and run effortlessly and without a prior setup on any computer.

It's wrapped in a self-explanatory yet outdated interface consisting of a single window divided into four separate tabs (home, office, club, all data) that display all the entered records, along with a more detailed view of each contact. Unfortunately, the app doesn't provide an option to create a private database or sync it with an account.

A nice feature is the ability to make your own groups to best suit your tastes, which can be done from the settings, as well as change the book name and design new attributes, like city, fax, email, company or comments.

Adding a new individual to the list requires several details, such as full name, company, multiple phone numbers, email, webpage, address, city or additional comments. Records can be moved between different categories and printed out. It would've been nice if the tool offered a way to insert profile pictures, personalized sounds or set reminders and alarms.

Taking everything into consideration, Custom Addressbook Lite is a minimalistic and plain program that comes in handy only for those who want a small and uncomplicated utility to keep track of numerous entries and organize them into distinct categories.
