Empoche

Productivity basically represents how much work you do in a time period. Obviously, the more you produce in the least amount of time, the more productive you are.

Keeping track of this characteristic isn't all that difficult, but there are programs that can measure it for us. One such application is Empoche.

The program itself isn't complicated to use. You just need to open it and let it run in the background. As you are using the PC, it analyzes everything that you are doing and calculates how productive you are.

If you wish to see your results, it has a slick-looking dashboard with all the statistics, that you can view. It breaks down your activities into 3 categories: productive, entertainment and other.

The application also contains a time analysis tab, where it shows how much time you spent using what program.

Along with keeping track of your activities, Empoche can also help you manage them. It has built-in tasks, projects, and calendar tabs where you can schedule what you plan on doing for a short or an extended period of time.

If you have something to do and want to have it written down somewhere, you can create a task and it will stay there until you let the program know you've finished it.

If you have more than one task for one main purpose then you can create a project in order to group all of them under the same category. Depending on how complex it is, you can also create multiple subprojects for it.

Of course, the calendar will give you a large overview of the tasks you have scheduled for a certain week or month. Here, you can click on any date to quickly create new tasks.
