SpeedDiary

SpeedDiary is a straightforward piece of software that gives you the possibility to take a break from work and and quickly take notes about important information to remember, such as events, tasks, meetings, appointments, vacations, and birthday parties.

The setup operation doesn't take long and requires minimal attention, since there are no unfamiliar options, third-party offers or software requirements bundled with the installer.

The interface is user-friendly, represented by a standard window with a neatly structured layout, where you can add a new post to the diary by typing or pasting text from the Clipboard, as well as by clicking a button to confirm the action. The font is Comic Sans and it's not possible to customize font preferences, such as type, size or color.

The current time and date are automatically listed once you've added the post, which are synchronized to the system. SpeedDiary lets you add as many new posts as you want.

It's necessary to refresh data in the main window to view the latest posts. There are no options implemented for editing post details, nor for removing selected entries from the database.

At most, you can clear all history to empty the database and start everything from scratch. Apart from the fact that you can select and copy all text to the Clipboard by opening the right-click menu or by triggering the global keyboard shortcuts, there are no other notable settings provided by this application.

Although it hasn't received updates for a long time, we haven't experienced any compatibility issues with the newest Windows models in our tests. The utility remained stable throughout its entire runtime, without hanging, crashing or prompting errors.

To wrap it up, SpeedDiary facilitates a simple interface that permits you to seamlessly take notes and write them in a diary with automatic timestamps, in order to easily keep track of important upcoming events or tasks. However, it looks rudimentary and doesn't contain richer options.
