The Note for Windows 8/10

The Note for Windows 8, 10, 8.1 is an approachable and small program created to offer a simple and effortless method to compose multiple notations in a short time and easily view them in a basic list. It doesn't come packed with unnecessary functions to confuse and make your life harder. It's installed through the Windows Store and provides a plain interface, accessible even for novices, showing a large "Add" button and an index that contains all memos with the creation date.

There isn't much to say about the offered features as there are practically nonexistent. All you have to do is make a new note, give it a suitable name and body content, and save it. The item is displayed in the list situated on the right side of the panel. Unfortunately, you don't have the option to sync the app's database with a specific personal account, like Microsoft Live, Outlook or Gmail, change the background to a custom theme or image and configure the view settings.

Plus, it's not possible to pick the desired font color, size and type for the notes, as there are none, and you can't create customized categories, to properly sort the entries based on their subject, like personal, office, school or family. It would've been nice if the tool offered options to organize the entries with distinctive colors to easily find them, schedule reminders and insert images and symbols to add a touch of personality to your memos. It would've been useful if there was a choice to export the database to particular file formats or protect it with a password to keep it away from prying eyes.

Taking everything into account, The Note is an uncomplicated and self-explanatory utility that comes in handy only for those who need a simple tool to compose and manage various annotations effortlessly and with ease.
