Reminder

With just the right time management, you can win a lot more minutes at the end of the day for all leisure activities. Personal time management doesn’t really require complex applications. In this regard, Reminder comes with a set of tools to easily take note to write your ideas, and set up reminders to never miss appointments, or other events.

On the one hand, the application requires Java Runtime Environment in order to function. On the other hand, Reminder itself doesn’t take you through a setup process, thus allowing you to use the application directly from a thumb drive, thus letting you take all notes and reminders wherever you go, without affecting the stability of the target PC.

All the application has to offer is found in a pretty simple interface, which is empty unless you choose to view any details. However, for this to be possible, you need to add some details first, be it reminders, or notes. Sadly, the application can’t be minimized to the tray area so it sits by until the configured time runs up.

Notes require little effort for input. With only a title, and content to be written down, creating a list of tasks for an entire this way becomes a comfortable experience. Sadly, there’s no built-in option to load text from existing files, not even from plain TXT ones. Managing them later on is done from the view panel.

As far as reminders are concerned, a text field can be used to write down what it’s all about, while time can be set for the current day, or later on. Moreover, a reminder can be set to automatically trigger periodically. For this method to work, you need to manually add a shortcut to the system Startup folder, because there’s no dedicated option to run the program with Windows.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Reminder is a lightweight, straightforward application with which to manage your daily activities in a comfortable manner. However, it feels a little rough around the edges, with no default startup option, and shallow set of options overall.
