It frequently happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and find yourself in the situation to send an urgent message to your company or co-workers. It also happens to forget your laptop when this happens, so sending an email by phone seems the best option at the moment. DialDictate is a neat and lightweight app that can record your message over the phone and send it as an email.

The interface is composed of a display window, where you'll be informed about all successful or failed calls and, a neat simulator, that comes in very handy for testing purposes and a small toolbar that covers all functionality options.

DialDicate needs some tweaks in order to make it work. To connect the app to a land-line telephone number, you will need either a CAHTA professional telephony board or a TAPI compliant telephony device, such as CURL TAPI boards, or even a standard voice modem. For professional applications, we recommend multi-line telephony boards (e.g., CAHTA or CURL).

Another way is to sign up with a VoIP telephone company for a local VoIP line capable service. This method doesn't require any special hardware, as DialDictate connects directly to the telephone exchange using your broadband internet connection.

DialDictate supports up to 32 phone lines and around 10 000. Each user can customize and save his info without the risk of data loss on every login. Also, it provides full control over your messages, for example, you can play, rewind, fast-forward and re-edit the messages.

All recordings are going to be backed up, an important feature for companies that need to save all phone conversations. Regarding the size, the app uses "Audio Compression" in order to speed up the transmission and save up storage space.
