Popfax Printer

Popfax Printer is a printer driver whose purpose is to help you convert files to TIFF FAX G3 file format and send them to a fax machine via Popfax.com Internet Fax Services. The tool offers support for simultaneous file transfers to different fax destinations.

It works with several input file formats, including DOC, ODT, SXW, PDF, BMP, GIF, RTF, and TXT.

The program works as a printer driver so it can be accessed by simply opening a document and selecting the Popfax Printer option from the printing devices installed on your machine.

The GUI looks clean and gathers all configuration settings under a single panel. There’s support for an online help manual in case you want to find out more about the setup of the dedicated parameters.

In order to send faxes, you need to specify the authentication parameters (username and password) of your Popfax account.

Popfax Printer gives you the possibility to add recipients to your fax using three different methods, namely type in the fax numbers (optionally, you may assign names and store them in a contact book), use an existing contact from your account, or import data from a plain text file.

The application shows information about the status of the transferred data, number of pages, estimated cost, fax number and overall progress while sending faxes.

You are allowed to set the image quality by opting for black & white dithering (for rendering gray zones for pictures and logos) or black & white thresholding (for enhancing the readability of text pages) mode.

What’s more, Popfax Printer helps you configure several parameters related to your Popfax account, like enable email/SMS notifications and attach the fax file to the email.

You can change personal information (e.g. first name, last name, city, country, language, phone number) and insert a cover page to your faxes containing a user-defined text and sender’s address, name, phone and fax.

Contacts can be managed by editing or deleting them. You may also import/export contacts from/to plain text file format.
