Created with the goal of making reading as comfortable and convenient for users, this program lets users manage their online library and access it from any device, among other things. #EBook Reader #Book Reader #PDF Reader #Reader #EBook #PDF
If you’re one who often reads eBooks on their computer, then you are most likely aware of the value of a good reader — one that doesn’t get in your way and lets you enjoy your favorite books. New projects are coming out all the time, each with their distinct approach, so finding new releases can be quite exciting.
Librum is an eBook reader that is in early development, so it will largely feel incomplete in many ways, at least for now. Even so, it enables users to read their favorite content undisturbed, while also granting them a cloud syncing functionality, whereby they can access their library from other devices to pick up where they last left off.
It shouldn’t take long for users to get acquainted with what the program offers. It’s a simple take on eBook readers that might potentially be up your alley if that’s what you’re looking for. Many of the fundamentals are covered, in that users can add their books, filter and tag them, as well as modify the reading experience by inverting colors.
Even so, with this still being an early release, many things will feel underdeveloped or incomplete. There seems to be no way to modify fonts or text size, and the Bookmarks feature hasn’t yet been fully implemented. There’s currently no way to annotate or highlight text passages. All of this should be implemented in due time, however.
Cloud synchronization can make life easier, and I’d say that applies here. Users will initially have to create an account, which they’ll be able to use on other devices, too. Any books added to their account will be added to the cloud, which means that you’ll be able to access them from multiple devices in a seamless manner.
The bottom line is, Librum seems promising, but give it some time. A Free Books Page is yet to be implemented, and support for add-ons and statistics are also in development, so let's wait to see what the future holds in store.
