Barcodes and labels have changed the way in which products, items, and data are traced and handled, and brought a new dimension in terms of handling efficiency.
Having the right means to operate with and generate such barcodes can be very important, and in addition to specialized apps offering such functionality, users can also rely on dedicated libraries. One such library is Barcode-Lib4J.
This specialized library was constructed specifically in order to offer users an open source Java solution for generating barcodes in both 1D and 2D, by relying on the Java2D engine. Using it, you will be able to save the barcodes in both vector (EPS, PDF, or SVG), as well as bitmap format (PNG, BMP, JPG).
When it comes to the exporting capabilities provided by the library, the output PDF format complies with the PDF/X-1a:2001 for CMYK and PDF/X-3:2002 for RGB standards, and the EPS format comes supporting embedded TIFF preview, for both RGB and CMYK color spaces.
One important feature that is provided by the library addresses the adjustment of the bar widths to the printer resolution, and this will allow you to work with proper barcode qualities when dealing with less than 600 DIP printing.
