Caligator

Caligator is one of those apps that you would probably dismiss at first, seeing as it may not look useful. You would be wrong, as this application is as interesting as it is useful.

The first thing you will notice is that Caligtor is a funny name for a very serious product. It works right from the start and manages to calculate and convert anything you throw at it. Wait! Calculate and convert? What is this?

As far as the interface is concerned, both the icon and app seem modern and quite stylish. As the name suggests this app is branded as a combination between a normal, boring calculator and an exciting, even scary alligator. All this means is you get a nice brand aside from a functional calculating program.

The app's interface is simple and beautiful. There are two themes at the moment, light and dark. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a way to switch to the dark theme. This could be a bug that hasn't been addressed yet.

The application simply fits in well with the modernist Windows 10 looks. It is one of those apps you would think is already included in any operating system build, be it Windows, Mac, Linux or any other.

When it comes to calculating, Caligator is not surprising at all, mainly because it functions according to one's expectations. It moves fast, and it provides good results at all moments. No errors and definitely no lag or slowdown. There is no limit to what sums you can calculate, and the results and added numbers are color-coded so you won't mistake one for the other.

The real exciting functions are the measurement and currency conversions. Whether you are planning a trip and don't know what your money means in the visiting country's currency or would like to understand how many km are between two points in the UK or USA, this little app can save you. The answers are accurate too.
