Evaluator

Windows Calculator is a quite nice asset when you need it. But why not use another application that comes with more functions and expressions? Evaluator is that kind of program, and it is a background calculator that calculates mathematical expressions as you type. However, it has its downsides, too. Primarily designed for regular users out there, Evaluator also has a lot of advanced functions and math constants to please those users with superior skills in mathematics.

The program runs in the background, but users can quickly access it using shortcuts. There are also some additional hot-keys that perform different operations each, from recentering the app's window to using the result as an expression or clearing expressions. Evaluator is a simple application and doesn't come with a settings section or other features, besides the one of calculating mathematical expressions in real-time as the user types.

For regular users, it can be fun to use, but for the more advanced ones, Evaluator can become annoying. And that is simply because they'll have to type all the complex mathematical functions and constants manually into the app's window. That would be time-wasting when it comes to complex mathematical calculations. And that is because users can't enlarge Evaluator's dialog box. Accordingly, it would be inconvenient when you introduce long strings of mathematical expressions.

The program is strictly for calculations, that's obvious, but it's also too simple. No customization options are available, so you have to get used to the black-and-grey window of the application. In short, the app is fun when used only for simple calculations, but I believe that it's annoying when it comes to more sophisticated mathematical operations. Other similar programs are more straightforward to use than Evaluator.
