Converter+

Converting PDF to Word or JPG to PNG has become increasingly easy these days, yet developers still try to simplify the process and offer users simple conversion solutions. One such example is Converter+, an application that is meant to convert PDFs to Word, JPG to PNG and vice-versa, fast and easy. Whether or not this is the case with Converter+ remains to be decided, as we're yet to see the end to this converting app feud.

Yes, just like that, this application is made up of a couple of buttons. It's true you have to navigate through two distinct menus, but that is about it. The first menu will ask you to choose the conversion process you want to follow, from PDF to Word, respectively from Word to PDF and from JPG to PNG and vice-versa. Afterward, you'll be required to load the file you want to convert and proceed to converting your documents. Unfortunately, you do have to convert files one by one, something which is quite a disadvantage if you come to think about how simple the process itself should be.

While the advertised simplicity is appealing, if you take into consideration the number and importance of negative aspects present within the structure of the program, you'll soon realize that this application is hardly worth trying. Why? Well, for starters, it does manage to convert files, but it's plagued by random errors, especially when converting from Word to PDF, and it requires you to upload files one by one to convert. These two issues alone make the program less appealing.

One must agree that the addition of an image converting option is a slight improvement in the offered functionality. There may have been time put into creating the application, but there's no doubt that it still requires heavy interventions in order for it to become relevant. In fact, Microsoft Office Word allows you to directly save your documents as PDF files, and so do other such text editors. What's the point in trying Converter+?

While the concept behind Converter+ is indeed convincing enough, and it represents an interesting idea with lots of potential, the resulting program, however, is not on par with the idea itself. It needs a lot of fixing and buffing up before it could actually become relevant or useful. Until then, Converter+ is just an example of simple not being necessarily always a good thing.
