Creating a survey might be tedious if you have to type in question by question in a text processing application. Fortunately, there are applications such as Nathan's Survey Creator that can generate questions automatically, also providing the tools you need to analyze the answers.

Nathan's Survey Creator is an intuitive application that can manage multiple questionnaires. Creating a new survey requires you to create the questions one by one, each with up to five answers to choose from.

A custom welcoming text can be customized for each project to match its purpose. A photo can be attached to the project, which will be displayed when conducting the survey, next to each question.

On the downside, you cannot add more images or insert graphics to be the subject of a survey question. On top of that, you must be careful to select a photo that is small enough to fit in the application's window. A picture that is too large will simply be cut, without having the possibility to resize the window.

Nathan's Survey Creator can also conduct the muti-choice surveys you previously created. It displays the questions one by one in a simple window, allowing the surveyed to select a single answer from the available alternatives. Unfortunately, selecting multiple answers is not an option, nor is revealing the correct answer after the "Next" arrow is pressed, which would be helpful to students.

The application also comes with an analysis module to help you view the results of a certain user or check all the answers. It displays the answers for each question, allowing you to save the data in a text file. On the downside, the application cannot generate graphical representations of the results for a fast statistical overview.

Nathan's Survey Creator is off to a good start, but there are lots of improvements to be made for the application to match the requirements of potential users. Whether it is used in schools by teachers or in the marketing area, such an application requires advanced survey building and analysis tools, not just basic ones.
