While there is no doubt that Excel is the benchmark application when it comes to managing spreadsheets, some improvements here and there might be desired by some, especially when it comes finding one's bearings in a sea of cells full of numbers and data.

OfficeTent Excel Add-in comes to improve upon Excel's already existing features and to provide you with a more streamlined way to orientate yourself while working or to actually pick up from right where you left off.

As its name suggests, it should be clear right from the start that, subsequent to its installation, OfficeTent Excel Add-in integrates itself nicely within Excel's ribbon toolbar.

In a few simple words, the add-in enables you to add visible flag-shaped bookmarks within cells, to view large sets of data more easily via a Data Pane, to write faster thanks to its smart Completer function, and to visually orientate yourself by highlighting the selected rows and columns.

It may not seem much at first, but with the help of some extra small details, OfficeTent Excel Add-in clearly has the potential to improve your workflow, especially with large spreadsheets where your eyes might have trouble finding the exact required cell.

For example, once you have bookmarked any number of cells, you can easily jump through them via accessible “previous” and “next” buttons. Following the same simple philosophy, the Data Pane helps you view large amounts of data stacked within tiny cells via a landscape-orientated panel.

You may also find it quite useful how this add-in automatically highlights the rows and columns that lead to a selected cell, especially after hours on end of working with immense spreadsheets. As expected, you can customize the color, opacity and style for the discussed feature with no more than a few mouse clicks.

Since OfficeTent Excel Add-in is still a young software solution, it should come as no surprise that it might seem a bit rough around the edges. That said, during our tests, we have encountered some small visual bugs, namely the flag-shaped bookmarks would remain visible even with Excel in minimized form.

While these small hiccups are understandable and are hardly deal-breakers, OfficeTent Excel Add-in is a streamlined and useful software solution meant to make your time spent within Excel a bit more pleasant. As it stands, the add-in represents a good starting base for further improvements and other future features.
