Pomodolfo

The Pomodoro technique is a time management method to help improve your productivity. It refers to splitting your time into periods of work, short breaks, and long breaks so that you can better focus on your task.

In order to practice this technique, you will need a specialized device or application. From the latter category, one useful example is Pomodolfo.

Using the program is pretty straightforward. You just open it, press start and the timer will begin to count down. Its default values have the work periods set to 25 minutes, the short breaks of 5 minutes and long breaks of 15 minutes.

Of course, if those intervals aren't suitable for you, you can modify them as you want. Preferably, you would want to keep the work period longer than the others.

The nice thing about it is that you do not have to keep it on top of all the other windows or look at it to see when you finish a period.

You can simply close Pomodolfo and it will remain in your system tray. You have an option for the program to give you a sound alert whenever it is time to take a break or get back to work.

In case you are using your PC on mute for whatever reason, you don't need to worry. If you wouldn't be able to hear it, you could then see it as you can have it pop up on the screen to notify you.
