Remove HTML Tags is an ultra-simplistic software application whose purpose is to strip all HTML code from a given text, leaving only the ASCII characters shown on the screen.

However, the app shouldn't be underestimated, as it may prove to be a great help to users who want to instantly find out the content hidden behind HTML code, or even if they want to check their own code to make sure everything is correct.

There is no setup pack involved, which makes Remove HTML Tags portable. It means that you can save the executable file to any part of the hard drive and just click it to run, as well as copy it to a pen drive or other mass storage device, in order to launch it on any machine with minimum effort and no previous installers.

Worth mentioning is that, unlike most installers, it does not modify Windows registry settings or create extra files on the disk without your approval, thus leaving no traces behind after its removal.

The UI is based on a single window with a white background and a simple text editor, and it doesn't show any buttons, tips or indications. All you have to do is paste your HTML code here and the program will automatically eliminate the HTML tags, displaying only the ASCII characters.

There are no other noteworthy options provided by this piece of software. Although it does not integrate buttons for printing data, exporting it to file, or copying it to the Clipboard, the latter option can be done by making a text selection and using the global "Copy" keyboard shortcut or by opening the right-click menu.

As expected, the app's impact on computer performance is insignificant, thanks to the fact that it runs on a low amount of CPU and RAM. It instantly strips the HTML tags and did not hang, crash or pop up error messages in our tests. Although it doesn't seem like a powerful tool, Remove HTML Tags can be a great help, even for serious programmers who are in a hurry.
