Text to Speech

Text to Speech is a generic Windows-only application that allows you to convert text from written to audio form.

The app is designed primarily to help users in areas without Internet access get audio files from various texts. It's designed based on Windows Forms, and it uses Windows Speech Synthesis.

This means that users can choose one of the two available voices from Window's speech assistants, David or Zira.

Text to Speech has two GUI modes: Basic and Advanced. The Basic mode offers the functionality of most text-to-speech utilities, while also allowing you to download the text as an audio .wav file.

The Advanced Mode offers SSML (Speech Synthesis Markup Language) support. With its help, users can select the text, and choose the SSML from the right-side box.

Another useful feature is called Isolate Text. This allows users to click and select a specific part of the text for reading. This feature is useful in situations when the text is too long and it hides the other, unselected part of the text.
