Yarbur Keyboard Layout

If you didn't add the Russian keyboard layout when installing the operating system, it can be later added from the built-in Windows features. However, if you're interested in an extended layout, you can use Yarbur Keyboard Layout.

It's a Windows package that contains both the Russian and English keyboard layouts, just in case you want to go back to English mode on your computer. The Russian layout also has typographical characters used in the Ukrainian and Belorussian languages.

The downloaded archive includes the Russian and English keyboard layouts for both x86 and x64 Windows. The setup procedure is simple and straightforward. After your confirmation, the keyboard layout is automatically added to Windows, although it might be necessary to restart the computer if you're using an older operating system. Also, it's mandatory that you are the administrator of the computer or you have the admin's credentials.

Next, you can toggle the default and Russian keyboard layouts from the systray or by triggering Alt+Shift. To view the exact characters and their positions on the keyboard, you can launch the Windows virtual keyboard. You can even set Russian as the default layout if you head over to Control Panel to change this setting.
