PDF Editor+

The PDF format is one of the most versatile and appreciated file types out there.  However, PDF readers are not easily accessible, as they require a reader/viewer tool. If you don't like the official Adobe Acrobat reader for whatever reason, you can use other third-party apps, one such example being PDF Editor+.

A PDF editor provides a series of tools and features that allow you to change the way the documents look, alter their contents, and manage restrictions. PDF Editor+ is far from being one, so the name is kind of misleading.

Besides the reading capabilities, this tool has no other function that would prop it as an editor. The only editing-related feature is a simple marker tool that can be used to highlight or mark text.

As mentioned earlier, this program can only help you open PDF documents and view the contents. There are no merging, splitting, editing functions to it or any other metadata changers.

As for the marking capability, this is very basic. The second element on the toolbar, Callout, activate a red dot that lets you manually mark or draw anything you want on a PDF page. This operation might help users highlight certain areas in order to find a paragraph faster, or signal important details.

The toolbar sports a Save As button, which would allow you to export a PDF to another format. Sadly, there are no other formats to take advantage of, but maybe that's because PDF Editor+ is still under development.

To summarize PDF Editor+ is a decent enough PDF reader, as it opens any document with ease. On the flip side, the name is still this tool's main problem, as the simple marking feature is not enough to make us consider it an editor. Hopefully, the next updates will bring forth more additions that would indeed help qualify this app as a PDF editor.
