PDF Merge-Split

PDF Merge-Split is an application designed to split and merge PDF documents. It also gives you the possibility to edit PDF properties and can be handled with ease by all user levels.

Installing it takes minimal time and effort, since there are no unfamiliar options, prerequisite software products or third-party components involved.

When it comes to the interface, PDF Merge-Split opts for a normal window with a neatly structured layout split into three panes for merging and splitting files, as well as editing PDF properties.

It's possible to combine as many PDFs as you want into a single file after customizing their order in the list and specifying the page range, in case you're not interested in processing all pages. The output file can be automatically opened on task completion.

When it comes to splitting PDFs, you can pick a file and set the output directory for the smaller pieces (or create them in the same location as the source), cut them by page range, bookmarks or single pages, view bookmark names and their pages, as well as check out the resulted files in a list.

PDF metadata can be modified when it comes to the title, author, subject and keywords of any selected file. All changes can be saved with one click.

We haven't come across any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that it required low CPU and RAM. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.

On the other hand, PDF Merge-Split hasn't been updated for a long time and there are many software products out there offering the same features for free. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself, since it's speedy and user-friendly.
