Keeping your PDF files safe is a good step in ensuring your data protection, regardless of the method you choose. If you’ve created protected, encrypted PDF files with the PDF Unshare application, dealing with them further on will require a dedicated reader app. This is where UPDF Reader enters the game, providing you with the purpose-fit means of visualizing the contents of and decrypting UPDF files.

In a similar fashion to other applications from PDF Unshare, UPDF Reader also carries a really simple interface, which features minimalist menus and commands, with little or no extra options.

This is by no means a bad thing, especially for novices, or those who don’t prefer in investing too much time in handling the app. However, a bit more thought could have been given to the interface, especially in terms of features available for previewing the file contents.

The main way of interacting with the file content is through the zooming controls, which might not be doing justice to the app in terms of available features. To that end, other ways of interacting with the loaded content could have been provided.

The over-simplification of the program’s features, or better said, their lack, does not impede the handling or functionality. But adding extra tools for content editing, selective export and such, might be beneficial in future iterations of the software.

This dedicated reader-app will help you preview the contents of protected, UPDF files, which have been encrypted using the PDF Unshare application. With a lack of advanced features and an overall minimalist demeanor, this program will not go beyond the scope of simple content displaying.
