PDF Stamp Command Line

Intellectual property can be protected using text or image watermarks. With PDF Stamp Command Line, you can easily add watermarks and edit your PDF documents to make sure their content is not misused or used without your consent. For instance, this application enables you to overlay “Confidential” on the pages of a PDF file that contains highly-sensitive data.

Evidently, PDF Stamp Command Line only runs in the Windows console, requiring you to become familiar with the syntax and its options before using it. Unlike other console applications, it does not come with a help section inside the application to help you get acquainted with the available commands, but a user manual is available in the package. Part of the commands will be described as follows.

The syntax of PDF Stamp Command Line is extremely simple, namely “Pdfstamp.exe –PDF -o [options]”. While the input and the output PDF documents are mandatory parameters, the options are not, so you can just process a file with the default settings.

One thing worth mentioning is that the application also supports batch operations. In other words, by using “–PDFS” as the input parameter, followed by the location of a directory where the documents are stored, you can easily stamp more than one PDF file in one go. In this case, you have to specify an output directory as well, where all the resulting stamped PDF documents will be saved.

The most common option for the watermark is the text stamp, which can be easily created using the “” command. This stamp can be customized with a specific font and size. You can set the watermark’s opacity, which means you can also add a transparent watermark to your PDFs. The position of the watermark can be set accurately.

Aside from text, the console application can stamp your PDF files with graphics and images, links and notes. Image stamps or graphic lines can be overlayed to the PDF document. The appearance of the graphic lines can also be customized. You can change its color, width and location.

Some users might opt for the GUI version of PDF Stamp, but the command line edition might be preferred by power users and software developers, as it can be easily integrated into their own program.
