Sidekick Notes

When your day is filled with deadlines, important assignments, and daily chores, it's almost impossible not to forget about something. Keeping sticky notes all over your screen, makes it look cluttered, and blocks the path to other essential tools.

Notepads need to be started every time in order to write your notations and are hard to deal when running multiple utilities at the same time. One of the many solutions are sided notes, just like Sidekick Notes, that offer a simpler yet faster method to create memos with a few clicks.

It comes lightweight when talking about the provided functions, to not complicate your work more than already is. There is no installation involved as the app comes with all the necessary files in a single directory, which can be put on an external drive and run on any PC. It's recommended to have Java present, as it may be needed to properly work.

However, there is one thing you need to do for the tool to work all the time, is to keep the executable file running while working, as closing it, automatically shuts the program. To access it, just point the cursor in the upper right corner. Sadly, there is no option to keep it on top of other apps, as it disappears when moving the mouse. Text can be pasted from the clipboard, imported from another document, or simply typing in.

The offered edit and format elements are basic, as you are able to just change the font type, size, color, style, and align the content to either left, right or center. Plus, the formatting can be cleared at any given time, and separators entered anywhere within the editor. Saved records are displayed in the upper section of the app, along with a search bar.

Taking everything into account, Sidekick Notes is a useful and accessible application that comes in handy when you want to quickly write a note and store it temporarily in a simple list.
