Notepad++ is an excellent application that supports a rich set of options and configuration settings for writing text documents and code in various programming languages.

Thanks to its tabbed support, users can freely move between multiple opened files and make adjustments. If you want an even easier way of toggling these files, you can resort to Window Manager.

This is a simplistic plugin dedicated to Notepad++ users, which creates a new pane embedded in the main window and shows a list of all opened documents, giving you the possibility to go to any one of them by just clicking its entry.

To get this extension up and running, you just have to extract the DLL file from the downloaded archive and copy it to the "plugins" directory of Notepad++. It works with both the installer and portable versions of the text editor.

Next, restart the tool if it was already running, in order to apply modifications and gain access to Window Manager via the "Plugins" menu. The new pane can be displayed by either clicking its entry in the menu or by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+W.

After saving the document to file, you can check out its format in the manager, in addition to its full path. Saved files are marked with a blue disk icon while unsaved files are labeled with red icons.

You just have to click an entry to jump to the corresponding tab, which is especially useful when having numerous documents opened. You can also hide the regular tab bar to be able to access files only from Window Manager.

If you right-click an entry from the list, you can use the same controls from the context menu when right-clicking tabs. For instance, it's possible to close all documents except for the current one or to move the file to Recycle Bin.

To wrap it up, Window Manager is a simple but practical Notepad++ plugin that can improve your productivity by providing you with a fast solution to select and manage opened documents. Too bad that it doesn't make room for configuration.
