As simple and effective as the Windows Notepad text editor might be, there’s still some of us out there who prefer alternatives, be it just for “kicks and giggles”, or other, more pertinent aspects, which might be relevant to use type. Nevertheless, there is a wide range of text editors available out there and YuranPad is no exception. Sporting a classic text editor layout and standard functionality, it does come prepared to surprise users through several additional tools, which may or may not be extra useful.

The application features a pretty basic layout that is reminiscent of the classic text editor interface, with a basic text string input area and menu area at the top. No pagination tools are provided and ident control or similar features are missing.

Context menu controls are provided and this simplifies the text editing process and the lower status bar offers users insight into the character count, encoding as well as line and column quantification.

One of the highlights of this text editor is that it allows one to export the text content directly, to a range of useful formats, some of which include: DOCX, ODT, RTF or even PDF. The latter is really useful, as it can save users from resorting to a dedicated PDF converter.

Although not impressive, the app does carry some tools for establishing the text formatting, in terms of font selection, color, casing or even blank spaces. This, however, is not enough to compensate for the overall basic look and feel of the app.
