Track and chart the cryptocurrencies you own — or the ones you're looking to buy — with this helper app designed to help you navigate the movements of the crypto market. #Crypto tracker #Currency tracker #Crypto graph #Crypto #Cryptocurrency #Coin
The crypto market is volatile — everyone knows that much. The value of a coin can sharply increase or decrease within a few hours, and there's always the possibility that what you wish to trade isn't up for transaction on your current platform. This makes using multiple apps to own certain coins quite common, so keeping track of the price movements becomes increasingly arduous.
However, there are tools to help with that. As the cryptocurrency value often vacillates, it's worth knowing that there are programs made for this need to track and follow those price trends. Cryptofolio is one such example, combining an intuitive, cross-platform design that spans from Windows, macOS, and Linux, all the way to the portable Android.
One of the main draws of Cryptofolio lies in its "Holdings" feature. Through it, you can input the coins you own and their amounts. The app will then track them, showing you information about the price changes in a 24-hour window.
The "Market" and "Activity" tabs are useful, too. In the case of the former, details about the most valuable coins are readily presented in a Top 100 ranking, along with data such as the total market cap, 24h traded volume, and even a "BTC Dominance" percentage to reveal the standing of the popular currency.
"Activity" is there to help you jot down your positions: you can insert what you last bought and sold, along with the respective amount and purchase date.
About the cross-platform design
It is handy to have a multi-platform app when you're looking to track your cryptocurrency, and that idea has been put to good use by Cryptofolio's developer. Supporting operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux accommodates all sorts of users, and the Android app ensures that you're in touch with your currency anytime, anywhere.
Cryptofolio is thus easy to recommend. It's simple to use, has a sleek interface that spans multiple platforms, and achieves its purpose: to keep you connected to your cryptocurrency.
What's new in Cryptofolio 2.2:
- Added support for multiple accounts. The admin account can now create new accounts. Their default password will be the same as their username, so the new user would have to login and change their password. Keep in mind that holdings and transactions are stored on the admin's server, so they can see other users' data. In the version of Cryptofolio that I'll be making for my final year university project, I'll encrypt user data so this won't be an issue. For now, make sure you trust your admin.
- Added a No-API mode so users can use Cryptofolio without hosting an API at all. Keep in mind, the data is stored in localStorage on the website and AsyncStorage on the mobile app, so this isn't intended for long-term use. Browsers usually have a limit of 5MB of localStorage per site as well. For the safety of your data, it's recommended to regularly export it, as there are few protections in place to protect it when in No-API mode. This does mean though that you can effectively use Cryptofolio by just opening the "index.html" file, or literally just go here and use it on GitHub Pages. If you're going to use the one hosted on GitHub Pages, please fork the project to ensure new commits don't break it, and then only pull the new commits when I publish a new release.
