Excel-to-Oracle is more of a tool and less of an application. While this doesn't really mean it is to be avoided, its purpose is clear from the start, as is the general functional style attached to it. The name is nothing more but a short description, an accurate and detailed explanation of the program's purpose. One must though that there is one extra feature included, and that is the ability to convert CSV files to Oracle database, as well.
The conversion process is quite easy. It looks like one of those classic wizards for setting up things around your PC. It will first ask you what type of conversion you need or want. You can choose to convert MS Excel documents or CSV files. Now, with Excel files, each particular worksheet will become a table. In the case of Comma Separate Values (CSV) files, the same applies. Other information you will need to input, on account of working with Oracle server machines is the IP of the machine, the name you want to give your new database, a username, and password together with the access port number.
Once you manage to add all the information, keep in mind that if you somehow manage to get it wrong, all information can be altered by clicking the Back button in the wizard. More technical information can be accessed via the Help button, although there really is little you could miss with this straightforward app. When working with Oracle server machines, the port value should not be altered unless it differs from the preset one.
Thus, Excel-to-Oracle is a useful tool that can be of help to any individual working with Oracle server machines and database files. It makes transferring Excel file content into Oracle database documents easier, and it can also prove equally useful when working with CSV files that need converting.
