GimmeFreeData

GimmeFreeData is an intuitive piece of software designed to lend you some help when trying to understand and anticipate various phenomena in the stock market, all while prompting you with an approachable GUI that you should easily figure out.

The program is capable of collecting up to 10 years of End of Day historical stock as well as index and fund prices, with a series of data sources being available for you to choose from. To be more specific, the dedicated drop-down menu features options such as Yahoo, Google, Otc, and Nasdaq, with the possibility of effortlessly indicating the start day just above this field.

Adding a new symbol or ticker can be done at any point, either via drag and drop or copy/paste, at which point, you are ready to click the “Get Data” in order to complete the process.

It is worth noting that saving data for each symbol or ticker to a location of your choice should raise no difficulty in case you don’t like the defaults. As for the output file format, it should be pointed out that ASCII CSV text files will be created in order to transparently organize your EoD data.
