IBscanner free

IBscanner free is a straightforward application that allows you to scan images that contain barcodes in order to identify the latter. With it you are able to load GIF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF file formats and have the software immediately lookup the code.

IBscanner free displays a more than comprehensive interface which makes it easy to use by just about anyone. It’s split into two sections, one that allows you to load and view the barcode, and another in which you can see the identified code.

The application is by all means a basic barcode scanning tool which should pose no problems since using it you won’t have to go through any complicated menus or settings. To identify a barcode all you need to do is load the image, click the scan button, view the code and then move on to the next one.

Though it’s a rather small tool in stature, IBscanner free is capable of identifying more than ten barcode types. It offers you the possibility to view Interleaved 2/5, Industrial 2/5, Code 39, Code 39 Extended, Codabar, Code 11, Code 128, Code 128 Extended, EAN/UCC 128, UPC-E, UPC-A, EAN-8, EAN-13, Code 93 and Code 93 Extended codes.

This means that IBscanner free can work with all the commonly used barcode symbology and since it’s so compact it takes very little of your system resources when active.

A thing that you might see as an inconvenience is the fact that the application doesn’t allow you to copy the code once it is identified.

All-in-all, despite the lack of some more advanced features, IBscanner free is by all means a practical barcode scanning solution.
