However, if you don't like relying on your web browser when using QuickBooks Online, you can check out this desktop client. Made by the same guys behind QuickBooks, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is basically a desktop version of the QuickBooks Online service.

Besides the fact that it puts aside the web browser, the tool is capable of signing you in automatically as soon as it's launched. It also gives you the possibility to use keyboard shortcuts when handling financial operations to get them done faster.

The interface is almost identical to the online counterpart of QuickBooks. However, it adds options to the menu bar for searching transactions, toggling full screen, increasing or decreasing the toolbar size, as well as for creating a wide range of items, like invoices, receive payments, estimates, credit memos, sale and refund receipts, delayed credit and discharged.

Other items that can be created from the menu bar are expenses, checks, bills, pay bills, purchase orders, vendor or credit card credit, single time activity, weekly timesheets, bank deposits, transfers, journal entries, and statements.

When it comes to your company's profile, you can manage account, settings and users, edit the chart of accounts, view all lists, check out products, services, recurring transactions, attachments, import data, reconcile, and the audit log. As far as reports are concerned, you can examine profit and loss, the balance sheet and company snapshot, together with the A/R and /A/P aging summary.

Make sure to have an active Internet connection or the tool won't load QuickBooks content. It's a good alternative to the web browser version of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, allowing you to manage your company's financial data straight from the desktop.
